This workshop will help you learn the different jobs required, the time involved and how much skill or knowledge needed to assist with one of our league's most important functions: CANDIDATE FORUMS. In most cases, time, skill and talent required are minimal, so there is something for everyone. We will go step by step through the process. You will learn how to find the candidate’s information, see the actual materials sent to candidates, learn how to time a forum, set up, and how to prepare non biased questions.
In October, we will be presenting forums for US House District 8, and Illinois Districts 51 and 52. We will need candidate hosts, greeters, timers and question preparers. I will explain the role of a Team Leader, which we certainly will need in the spring, when the local elections take place. Please plant to attend, and learn that “IF YOU CAN PLAN A BIRTHDAY PARTY, YOU CAN PLAN A FORUM.”
Remember to eat before you arrive, bring a water bottle, paper and pen. We will provide snacks and handouts.
