EVEN NUMBERED YEARS:


MARCH. 3rd Tuesday. General Primary Election

 

  • Nomination of Federal, State, Legislative, Judicial, County and Sanitary District Officers.
  • Election of political party officers, Referenda, special elections.
  • Every 4th year since 1988, Presidential preference/advisory election.


NOVEMBER. 1st Tuesday after 1st Monday: General Election

 

  • Election of Federal, State, Legislative, Judicial, County and Sanitary District Officers
  • Retention of Judicial Officers
  • Referenda
  • Special Elections.

 
ODD-NUMBERED YEARS:

FEBRUARY. Last Tuesday Consolidated Primary Election

 

  • Nomination of Municipal, Township and Road District Officers
  • Referenda
  • Special Elections


APRIL. First Tuesday Consolidated Election

 

  • Election of Municipal, Township, Road District, Park District Library District, School District, Community College District, Fire Protection District, and other special district officers
  • Regional Board of School Trustees; Referenda; Special Elections

ELECTIONS HOURS: Polling places are generally open from 6AM to 7PM on Election Day.  Hours at early voting sites will vary.
