About the book: A novel about the extraordinary partnership between First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and civil rights activist Mary McLeod Bethune—an unlikely friendship that changed the world.

Optional post-discussion lunch: For those who are interested, a lunch will be held at Ciao Baby in Barrington after the discussion.

LWVPA Book Club meetings are focused and engaging discussions of fiction and nonfiction books about current social and political issues. Our facilitators select the books and lead the discussion. Learn more about the book club.
